Associate Instructor Certificate Program

This is a 120-hr program with a 20-hour finalizing certification course.
One may earn an Associate Instructor certificate in the MANTAK CHIA® system from Spiritual Tao by completing all of the following steps: 

 

    1. Take the following courses:


      •  ST101: Qigong Meditation Basics 1                                                                                      (20 hours) 
      •  ST102: Qigong Meditation Basics 2                                                                                      (20 hours)
      •  ST103: Qigong Meditation Basics 3                                                                                      (20 hours)
      •  ST104: Qigong Meditation Basics 4 + Wisdom Qigong + Iron Shirt Qigong 1               (20 hours)
      •  ST105: Qigong Meditation Basics 5 + Craniosacral Qigong + Intro Healing Love         (20 hours)
      •  ST201: Healing Love 1                                                                                                             (20 hours)
           


    2. Upon completion of step 1, write a one-page "Letter of Intention" explaining why you wish to become an Associate Instructor.
      Please submit this to Spiritual Tao.




    3. Upon completing steps 1-2, schedule a one hour interview with Spiritual Tao to go over test preparation.  In brief, test will cover material of ST101: Qigong Meditation Basics 1 (i.e. Qigong Basics, Inner Smile, Five Element Theory, Six Healing Sounds, Classical Microcosmic Orbit, and related material, but no Tao Yin) and parts of ST104-105 (i.e. Qi Self-Massage protocol).  Specific details will be given in the prep interview.




    4. REtake the following course:
      • ST101: Qigong Meditation Basics 1                                          (20 hours)

      This course serves as your "evaluation" course.
      When the course completes, you will test a scheduled time outside of the class time.




    5. Testing and Certificate Fees

      1. Pay testing and certificate fees of $200.
        This will cover all costs of guidance and testing ($100), along with certificate ($100) fees.
      2. You will test after completion of  retake step 4 "ST101" course at a scheduled time outside of class.



    6. Upon successful completion of the test:
      The student must sign the Associate Instructor Agreement and Ethics Code form.
      Then later the student will receive an official certificate that gives you international recognition as being certified in the MANTAK CHIA® system.
      Note: If a student does not pass the test, the student may reschedule another test at a convenient time in the future for $50.



    7. To finalize certification:
      Student needs to upload scanned copy of physical certificate into international database, so that certification is activated.

  

REQUIREMENTS in short:
Basically, you need to take the five courses in QMB1-5 (with Iron Shirt 1, Wisdom Qigong, Craniosacral Qigong, Intro Healing Love).
Then take the ST201 Healing Love course.
Then turn in Letter of Intention and repeat QMB1 course with test after course. 
After passing, upload scanned certificate to database.

You need not do anything to enroll in this Associate Instructor Certificate Program, other than follow the above steps.

Associate Instructors are strongly encouraged to upgrade later to Certified Instructor level, which requires further coursework.

Differences between Associate Instructors and Certified Instructors:

 

  1. Associate Instructors may teach only Qigong Meditation Basics 1  and  Qi Self-Massage.
    Certified Instructors may teach Qigong Meditation Basics 1-5  and  Qi Self-Massage.

     

  2. Associate Instructors may teach only to a single student or to a local group (50 miles within home address).
    Certified Instructors may teach anywhere (internationally).

     

  3. Classes taught by Associate Instructors do NOT generate qualifying hours for their students.
    Students wishing to progress toward certification for Associate Instructor can only count hours taught by Certified Instructors (or Senior Instructors).

     

  4. Only Certified Instructors can test for upgrade certifications that allow one to teach other material beyond Qigong Meditation Basics (e.g. Iron Shirt 1, Tai Chi 1, etc.).
    Associate Instructors must upgrade to Certified Instructor level first before being allowed to test for teaching permission in Iron Shirt 1, Tai Chi 1, etc.
    Note: There are a few exceptions to this rule (e.g. the Inner Alchemy Qigong Instructor Level 1 certifications)

     

  5. Associate Instructors are strongly encouraged to upgrade to Certified Instructor level within three years of becoming an Associate Instructor.

Certified Instructor Certificate Program

This is a 160-hr program with a 20-hour finalizing certification course, after one becomes an Associate Instructor.
One may earn an Certified Instructor certificate in the MANTAK CHIA® system from Spiritual Tao by completing all of the following steps:

 

    1. Do the Associate Instructor Certificate Program as above.



    2. Take the following courses, either during the Associate Instructor program or afterward:

        •  ST202: Healing Love 2 + Stem Cell Qigong                                                   (20 hours)
        •  ST203: Healing Love 3 + Five Element Qigong                                             (20 hours)
        •  ST204: Healing Love 4                                                                                      (20 hours)                                 
        •  ST205: Healing Love 5                                                                                      (20 hours)
        •  ST206: Healing Love 6                                                                                      (20 hours)
        •  ST310: Intro Fusion 1 + Cosmic Vision + Tantien Qigong                           (20 hours)
        •  ST311: Fusion of the Five Elements 1 + Passing Energy Protocol             (20 hours)



    3. Begin teaching Inner Smile/Six Healing Sounds/Qigong Basics from QMB1 and Qi Self-Massage from QMB4-5, to family/friends/local students.
      As you do so, have at least 9 students Fill out Case Study Forms.  Form is here.  You can start this anytime after completing ST204 course.


    4. Take a minimum 20 additional hrs of coursework with Master Mantak Chia.***(see below)
      This 20-hr minimum MUST be in Basics and Fusion.  He offers Basics, Healing Love, Fusion training weeks in Winter/Summer, currently online. 



    5. Upon completing steps 1-4, schedule a one hour interview with Spiritual Tao to go over test preparation.  In brief, test will cover material of ST102-104 (i.e. Three Fires and Six Directions form, and related material) and parts of ST311 (i.e. Passing Energy Protocol).  Specific details will be given in the prep interview.



    6. REtake the following courses:
      • ST103: Qigong Meditation Basics 3                   (20 hours)

      This course serves as your "evaluation" course--you must submit before or at the very beginning of this course, the following:
      • Your 9 Completed Case Studies for Certified Instructor

      When the course completes, you will test a scheduled time outside of the class time.



    7. Testing and Certificate Fees

      1. Pay testing and certificate fees of $200.
        This will cover all costs of guidance and testing ($100), along with certificate ($100) fees.
      2. You will test after completion of  retake step 7 "ST103" course at a scheduled time outside of class.

         

    8. Upon successful completion of the test:
      The student must sign the Instructor Agreement and Ethics Code form.
      Then later the student will receive an official certificate that gives you international recognition as being certified in the MANTAK CHIA® system.
      Note: If a student does not pass the test, the student may reschedule another test at a convenient time in the future for $50.

       

    9. To finalize certification:
      Student needs to upload scanned copy of physical certificate into international database, so that certification is activated.

 

***Master Mantak Chia would like all new Certified Instructor trainees--regardless of background--to have this extra 20 hours of live (online) training with him personally, regardless of which Senior Instructor you train with.  It is recommended (but not required) to exceed this 20 hour minimum by taking all three 20-hr weeks in Basics, Healing Love, and Fusion with him, typically offered during his Winter and Summer training programs.
Please try to satisfy this request by the founder of the MANTAK CHIA® system.


Please give receipt of payment to Spiritual Tao, for validation of hours in Master Chia's coursework.

If this is not possible due to difficulties obtaining coursework, please discuss this directly with Spiritual Tao.  

You need not do anything to enroll in this Certified Instructor Certificate Program, other than follow the above steps.

Inner Alchemy Qigong Instructor Level 1 Certificate Program

This is a 40-hr program with a 10-hour finalizing certification course.
This is INDEPENDENT of Associate Instructor or Certified Instructor certification.

One may earn an Inner Alchemy Qigong Instructor Level 1 certificate in the MANTAK CHIA® system from Spiritual Tao by completing all of the following steps:

 

    1. Acquire 10 hours of Qigong Meditation Basics.  This is achieved by taking   ST101: Qigong Meditation Basics 1   or equivalent elsewhere.
      Those already doing the Associate Instructor program will meet this requirement already, without needing to do any additional coursework.



    2. Acquire a total of 30 course hours in the Level 1 Qigong course topics (listed below), with some hours in EACH of the four topics:

        • Wisdom Qigong
        • Craniosacral Qigong
        • Stem Cell Qigong
        • Five Element Qigong

      You do NOT need to take all of these in the same course.  As long as you have some course hours in each, with total of 30, that is good enough. 


      NOTE 1:  Those doing the Associate Instructor and Certified Instructor programs will acquire most--if not all--of these 30 hours in these topics automatically, just by taking the relevant courses in the Associate Instructor and Certified Instructor programs.  In particular, the courses ST104, ST105, ST201, ST202, ST203, and ST204 all provide course hours in these topics.


      NOTE 2:  That said, there is no strict requirement that a person do the Associate Instructor and/or Certified Instructor programs to get the required hours for this certification process.  Nonetheless, it is my personal view, that unless someone is already in top physical condition and has had a lot of energetic training before, it is better to build up to this material through the natural course sequence laid out in ST101, ST102, ST103, etc.



    3. Take a 10-hr evaluation course ($195), to test in these topics.

      You can opt to test in just one topic, in several topics, or in all four topics.
      Each topic you test in (and pass) is its own certification credential.
      So you have the opportunity to obtain anywhere from ONE to FOUR additional certifications from this testing.


      Note:  If you have acquired your hours already in steps 1 and 2, and you wish to test before an evaluation course is available, you are permitted to schedule a 3-hour private session for the same price $195 and test in such a session.



    4. Testing and Certificate Fees

      1. Pay certificate fees of $100.
        The testing fees were already included in the evaluation course price ($195)
      2. You will test during the evaluation course.

         

    5. Upon successful completion of the test:
      The student must sign the Inner Alchemy Qigong Instructor Agreement and Ethics Code form.
      Then later the student will receive an official certificate that gives you international recognition as being certified in the MANTAK CHIA® system.
      Note: If a student does not pass the test, the student may reschedule another test at a convenient time in the future for $50.

       

    6. To finalize certification:
      Student needs to upload scanned copy of physical certificate into international database, so that certification is activated.
      Uploading your certificate will certify you as an Inner Alchemy Qigong Instructor Level 1, AND it will give you additional certifications in the ONE to FOUR topics you passed.  Any of the four topics you decided not to test in, or any you didn't pass, you can test for in the future for $50 each. 

You need not do anything to enroll in this Inner Alchemy Qigong Instructor Level 1 Certificate Program, other than follow the above steps.

Wisdom Qigong, Craniosacral Qigong, Stem Cell Qigong, and Five Element Qigong are FOUR independent certifications. 
They are tested for independently as part of the Inner Alchemy Qigong Instructor Level 1 certification, as above.

Iron Shirt Qigong 1 Instructor Certificate Program

One may earn an Iron Shirt Qigong 1 Instructor certificate in the MANTAK CHIA® system from Spiritual Tao by completing all of the following steps:

 

    1. Complete the Certified Instructor Certificate Program as above.

       

    2. Pay testing and certificate fees of $200 to Spiritual Tao and schedule an Iron Shirt Qigong 1 Instructor test.

       

    3. Take the Iron Shirt Qigong 1 Instructor test.
      Note: It is recommended--but not required--that a person retake the ST104: Qigong Meditation Basics 4 + Wisdom Qigong + Iron Shirt Qigong 1   and  ST105: Qigong Meditation Basics 5 + Craniosacral Qigong + Intro Healing Love  courses, and to get some private personalized advanced instruction in Iron Shirt Qigong 1-- prior to taking the test--to optimize success.

       

    4. Upon successful completion of the test:
      The student must sign the Iron Shirt Qigong 1 Instructor Agreement and Ethics Code form.
      Then later the student will receive an official certificate that gives you international recognition as being certified in the MANTAK CHIA® system.
      Note: If a student does not pass the test, the student may reschedule another test at a convenient time in the future for $50.

       

    5. To finalize certification:
      Student needs to upload scanned copy of physical certificate into international database, so that certification is activated.

Iron Shirt Qigong 1 Instructor certification grants one permission to teach Iron Shirt Qigong 1 (in addition to Qigong Meditation Basics).

Tai Chi Qigong 1 Instructor Certificate Program

 

One may earn an Tai Chi Qigong 1 Instructor certificate in the MANTAK CHIA® system from Spiritual Tao by completing all of the following steps:

 

    1. Complete the Certified Instructor Certificate Program as above.

       

    2. Pay testing and certificate fees of $200 to Spiritual Tao and schedule a Tai Chi Qigong 1 Instructor test.

       

    3. Take the Tai Chi Qigong 1 Instructor test.
      Note: One should consult with me first about your current skill level at Tai Chi 1.  This is a hard test.
      One can not pass the Tai Chi 1 Instructor certification test without being at least Advanced-High in student skill in Tai Chi 1.
      This usually requires taking Tai Chi 1 multiple times, followed by several refinement courses (either as a workshop, or scheduled privately.)

       

    4. Upon successful completion of the test:
      The student must sign the Tai Chi Qigong 1 Instructor Agreement and Ethics Code form.
      Then later the student will receive an official certificate that gives you international recognition as being certified in the MANTAK CHIA® system.
      Note: If a student does not pass the test, the student may reschedule another test at a convenient time in the future for $50.

       

    5. To finalize certification:
      Student needs to upload scanned copy of physical certificate into international database, so that certification is activated.

Tai Chi Qigong 1 Instructor certification grants one permission to teach Tai Chi Qigong 1 (in addition to Qigong Meditation Basics).

Tai Chi Qigong 2 Instructor Certificate Program

 

One may earn an Tai Chi Qigong 2 Instructor certificate in the MANTAK CHIA® system from Spiritual Tao by completing all of the following steps:

 

    1. Complete the Tai Chi Qigong 1 Certificate Program as above.

       

    2. Pay testing and certificate fees of $200 to Spiritual Tao and schedule a Tai Chi Qigong 2 Instructor test.

       

    3. Take the Tai Chi Qigong 2 Instructor test.
      Note: One should consult with me first about your current skill level at Tai Chi 2.  This is a hard test.
      One can not pass the Tai Chi 2 Instructor certification test without being at least Advanced-High in student skill in Tai Chi 2.

       

    4. Upon successful completion of the test:

Healing Love Instructor Certificate Program

One may earn an Healing Love Instructor certificate in the MANTAK CHIA® system from Spiritual Tao by completing all of the following steps:

 

    1. Complete the Iron Shirt Qigong 1 Instructor Certificate Program as above.

       

    2. Pay testing and certificate fees of $200 to Spiritual Tao and schedule a Healing Love Instructor test.

       

    3. Take the Healing Love Instructor test.

       

    4. Upon successful completion of the test:
      The student must sign the Healing Love Instructor Agreement and Ethics Code form.
      Then later the student will receive an official certificate that gives you international recognition as being certified in the MANTAK CHIA® system.
      Note: If a student does not pass the test, the student may reschedule another test at a convenient time in the future for $50.

       

    5. To finalize certification:
      Student needs to upload scanned copy of physical certificate into international database, so that certification is activated.

Healing Love Instructor certification grants one permission to teach Healing Love (in addition to earlier certifications).

Primordial Qigong Instructor Certificate Program

One may earn an Primordial Qigong Instructor certificate in the MANTAK CHIA® system from Spiritual Tao by completing all of the following steps:

NOTE:  

Master Chia just recently (as of June 2021) added Primordial Qigong as a certification, that one can now get in HIS system!

 

TO THOSE WHO PREVIOUSLY (before June 2021) took Primordial Qigong from me:

So that people can work toward getting certified in Master Chia's system, going forward I will be teaching Master Chia's version when I offer a workshop on Primordial Qigong RATHER than the one I taught earlier (Zhu Hui).  The forms are similar, but there are some differences.   If you learned the Zhu Hui version, it should be easy to change over.  Those that were in process before and do not wish to change over, can complete their training on the old version through private instruction.  However, going forward, Master Chia's version will be presented in workshops, to align with his certification system.

Big Dipper Qigong Certificate Programs

Students can take training and get certified as teachers of Big Dipper Qigong through Spiritual Tao.

There are three certification levels: Associate Teacher, Teacher, and Senior Teacher

Associate Teacher: May teach Big Dipper Qigong locally (within 50 miles), but hours are not qualifying for their students.
Teacher: May teach Big Dipper Qigong anywhere and hours taught are qualifying for their students.
Senior Teacher: May also test students for Associate Teacher or Teacher, with certificates issued by Spiritual Tao.

 

More details for Big Dipper Qigong certificate levels are listed below.

Big Dipper Qigong Associate Teacher Certificate Program

Interested students may earn a Big Dipper Qigong Associate Teacher certificate from Spiritual Tao by completing all of the following steps:

 

    1. Take Big Dipper Qigong in a workshop of at least 3-days in length from Spiritual Tao.
      This may contain any unrelated topics, so long as it includes Big Dipper Qigong.

       

    2. A minimum of one-year practice time.

       

    3. REtake Big Dipper Qigong in a workshop of at least 3-days in length from Spiritual Tao.
      To fulfill group classroom requirements, student must have acquired a minimum of 14 hours specifically in Big Dipper Qigong after two classes.
      (If not, shortage must be made up through private lessons.)

       

    4. Private lesson requirements:
      Upon completion of steps 1-3, the student must take at minimum of 1 hour of private lessons in Big Dipper Qigong form correction.
      This hour must be taken live at some point after Step 3.

       

    5. Pay testing fees of $50 to Spiritual Tao and schedule an Big Dipper Qigong Associate Teacher test.

       

    6. Take the Big Dipper Qigong Associate Teacher test.

       

    7. Upon successful completion of the test:
      The student must sign the Big Dipper Qigong Associate Teacher Agreement and Ethics Code form.
      The student will receive an official certificate that certifies the student as a Big Dipper Qigong Associate Teacher, under the SPIRITUAL TAO registered trademark.
      Note: If a student does not pass the test, the student may reschedule another test at a convenient time in the future for $25. 

Big Dipper Qigong Teacher Certificate Program

Interested students may earn a Big Dipper Qigong Teacher certificate from Spiritual Tao by completing all of the following steps:

 

    1. Complete the Big Dipper Qigong Associate Teacher Certificate Program as above

       

    2. An additional one-year continued practice time after becoming a Big Dipper Qigong Associate Teacher.

       

    3. Private lesson requirements:
      Upon completion of steps 1-2, the student must take at minimum of 1 hour of private lessons in Big Dipper Qigong form correction.
      This hour must be taken live at some point after Step 2.

       

    4. Pay testing fees of $50 to Spiritual Tao and schedule an Big Dipper Qigong Teacher test.

       

    5. Take the Big Dipper Qigong Teacher test.

       

    6. Upon successful completion of the test:
      The student must sign the Big Dipper Qigong Teacher Agreement and Ethics Code form.
      The student will receive an official certificate that certifies the student as a Big Dipper Qigong Teacher, under the SPIRITUAL TAO registered trademark.
      Note: If a student does not pass the test, the student may reschedule another test at a convenient time in the future for $25.

Big Dipper Qigong Senior Teacher Certificate Program

Interested students may earn a Big Dipper Qigong Senior Teacher certificate from Spiritual Tao by completing all of the following steps:

 

    1. Complete the Big Dipper Qigong Teacher Certificate Program as above

       

    2. An additional two years of continued practice time after becoming a Big Dipper Qigong Teacher.

       

    3. REtake Big Dipper Qigong in a workshop of at least 3-days in length from Spiritual Tao.
      From taking the class the third time and from earlier private lessons, the student must have acquired a minimum of 24 hours specifically in Big Dipper Qigong.
      (If not, shortage must be made up through private lessons.)

       

    4. Private lesson requirements:
      Upon completion of steps 1-3, the student must take a minimum of 1 hour of private lessons in Big Dipper Qigong form correction.
      This hour must be taken live at some point after Step 3.

       

    5. Pay testing fees of $50 to Spiritual Tao and schedule an Big Dipper Qigong Senior Teacher test.

       

    6. Take the Big Dipper Qigong Senior Teacher test.

       

    7. Upon successful completion of the test:
      The student must sign the Big Dipper Qigong Senior Teacher Agreement and Ethics Code form.
      The student will receive an official certificate that certifies the student as a Big Dipper Qigong Senior Teacher, under the SPIRITUAL TAO registered trademark.
      Note: If a student does not pass the test, the student may reschedule another test at a convenient time in the future for $25.
